Grenache has been a part of our history since 1994. Lucas loves the challenge of making Grenache, so much so that he asked our longtime grower and friend Harold Hoskins to graph over part of his Dry Creek Valley vineyard to Grenache about 10 years ago. This 2017 is the sixth wine to come from those vines, and perhaps the best one yet! It is also the last one from Harold's vineyard, as he sold the vineyard in 2018. Thus, we decided to make this a "Reserve" bottling to honor the legacy of Harold and our history in working with him. We believe the wine is the perfect before-dinner wine, with fruit, spice and herbal notes balancing beautifully. You can taste some classic DCV notes in this wine: hints of creekside brambles, earth, and lavender. This wine has a gorgeous dark ruby color, hints of floral oak, and wonderful fruity complexity.
