This is our first release of a varietal Carignane since 2007. Charlie Meeker, forever a tinker-er, was making 3 different single vineyard Carignane wines back before Carignane was cool. Once it became cool to produce Carignane, the price of fruit went up and we stopped buying it. But when the opportunity came up to get our hands on 100 year old Carignane, that is both dry and organically farmed by a vineyard owner the caliber of Larry Venturi, we simply couldn't pass it up.
