This Syrah is big, fruit-forward, and deep with complex notes of earth, leather, and spice. The wine illustrates a deep magenta in the glass with a dark black core. The nose is fragrant with black plums, soft figs and currant. The palate stews these fruit characters with blackberry and touches of chamomile and star anise. The finish is lush with velvety, firm tannins and heavy toast characters like clove and allspice. Approximately 80% Syrah, 17% Viognier, 3% Grenache, all from Ridgeback Mountain
